Debunking the Controversy Surrounding a Line in “Lam Shamsiya”

Ahmed Sabour, the sound engineer for the TV series “Lam Shamsiya,” recently addressed the widespread rumor about a specific line—”She forgot, but you didn’t”—allegedly spoken in the show’s first episode.

The phrase gained significant traction on social media, sparking debates among viewers.

In a post on his official Facebook account, Sabour commented, “The thing that caught my attention amidst all the buzz and rumors about the ending of Lam Shamsiya was the claim that in the first episode, Wessam said to Rubab while washing his hair, ‘She forgot, but you didn’t.’

People have been using this as definitive proof that there was foreshadowing of Wessam harassing Zeina.”

He continued, “I was shocked by how many people insisted this line was said, even though I don’t recall hearing it at all. As the sound designer for the series, I listen to every scene countless times. So, I went back to the episode and couldn’t find anything remotely resembling that line. I even doubted myself and rechecked all the recorded takes for that scene—none of them included it. I also reviewed the original script, and the line doesn’t exist anywhere in the text.”

Sabour concluded, “It seems someone started this rumor, it spread like wildfire, and then it turned into a Mandela Effect—a psychological phenomenon where a group of people collectively misremember an event or detail in a way that differs from reality.
