Sherine’s Songs Return After Rotana Dispute Resolved
Egyptian superstar Sherine Abdel Wahab’s music has made a triumphant return to digital streaming platforms following a legal battle with Rotana that temporarily led to the removal of her entire catalog. The dispute has now been settled, allowing fans to enjoy her songs once again.
Sherine’s lawyer, Yasser Kantoush, confirmed that YouTube reinstated her music after verifying legal documents proving her right to share her work freely. The resolution marks the end of a months-long saga with Rotana, restoring access to her hits across all platforms.

Court Ruling Ends Sherine-Rotana Feud

Kantoush clarified that the judiciary definitively resolved the conflict, noting that Sherine’s contract with Rotana had expired long ago despite ongoing debates. He emphasized that the dispute was unnecessary from the start, and the final ruling ensures uninterrupted access to Sherine’s music for her audience.

Legal Warning Against Interference

Beyond announcing the songs’ return, Kantoush issued a stern legal warning to anyone attempting to hinder Sherine’s artistic rights. He stated that any entity infringing on her work could face a fine of up to 2 million Egyptian pounds, as stipulated by the court’s decision.

Cairo Economic Court Orders Rotana to Pay Compensation

In a Facebook post, Kantoush revealed that the Cairo Economic Court issued a final ruling mandating Rotana to pay approximately 2 million Egyptian pounds in damages for unlawfully removing Sherine’s songs. This financial penalty underscores the court’s stance on the matter.

Sherine Regains Full Artistic Freedom

With this verdict, Sherine Abdel Wahab has reclaimed complete control over her artistry. She can now release both past and future works without interference from Rotana or any third party. Kantoush hailed the decision as a significant legal victory, restoring Sherine’s ability to connect with her fans through her music.
