Abdel Moneim Amayri Shines in “The Seven” Role

Abdel Moneim Amayri: Amal Arafa Is a “Strong Partner” in “The Seven”
Syrian actor Abdel Moneim Amayri recently expressed his excitement about collaborating with his ex-wife, actress Amal Arafa, in the new TV series The Seven. In a television interview, he described her as a “strong partner” whose talent pushes him to deliver his best performance.

A Dynamic Artistic Duo

During an interview with Et bil Araby, Amayri spoke about their on-screen chemistry: “When an actor works with a strong partner like Amal Arafa, you have to be on your toes. Her exceptional acting provokes me to bring out my best. It’s like a game of ping-pong—if your co-star isn’t skilled and professional, it drags you down.”
He emphasized that this isn’t their first collaboration, noting a long history of successful joint projects. “I feel comfortable working with her,” he said. “We’ve done more than ten projects together—perhaps she’s the actress I’ve worked with the most over the years.”

A Complex Character in The Seven

Amayri revealed that his character in The Seven is full of contradictions, making it a fascinating challenge. “One moment he’s incredibly kind, the next he’s downright wicked. Sometimes he’s funny, but we worked hard to find the keys to this character through research, rehearsals, and discussions with the director,” he explained.
He admitted the role comes with difficulties but sees the fantasy genre as an advantage. “There’s a challenge, for sure, but in fantasy, the solutions are more open-ended than in a rigid or defined script. I hope this role resonates with the audience,” he added.

Embracing Diverse Roles

Amayri opened up about the challenges of taking on roles that differ from what fans are used to seeing. His goal, he said, is to always deliver a fresh character with a unique imprint. “With every new role, there’s a challenge to create something different,” he shared. “This year, I got the chance to play a mercurial, colorful character with multiple layers—unlike the one audiences saw last year in Close Your Eyes.”

Hoping for Audience Approval

Wrapping up the interview, Amayri expressed his hope that The Seven would win over viewers. “I hope this project—another collaboration with Amal—gains the audience’s approval and love,” he said. For him, the series represents not just a professional milestone but a chance to connect with fans through a bold, new story.
